Soko Graduate Association (SGA)
The Soko Graduate Association (SGA) was set up to provide graduates with access to employment, internships, training opportunities and a peer network of support. SGA provides:
Online Job Centre and peer support network: Graduates can access and share information about job opportunities online, including sharing advice and support.
Workshops to build knowledge and skills, including on interview strategies and applications. The programme of workshops is developed in response to graduates' needs.
Internships to enable graduates to gain work experience. In SGA's first year, internships were set up with First Aid Africa, TAPP (an agricultural NGO), Lilongwe international library, Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority and Malawi Music Fund.
Soko graduates can become members of SGA for a small membership fee. This gives members access to the peer support network, workshops and the internship programme. The SGA is governed by the Executive Committee, which is made up of Soko graduates and is elected on an annual basis.
